From 1905 to 1942 Charles Conlon combined his passion for the sport with his skillful use of the Speed graflex camera to immortalize images of basball's greatest players. Conlon's easy matter and kindly disposition earned him players' acceptance. These special relationships enabled him to capture the character of these legends like no other photographer.
Conlon's work appeared widely in publications like the Spalding Guide, the New York Telegram, and the Sporting Newsin the early 1940's. The Sporting Newsacquired 8000 negatives (mostly glass) that comprise the Conlon Collection
